June 2009 Week 4

Elton John ball highlights black and white trend
Elton John is legendary on the celebrity circuit for throwing some of the biggest parties around.
Last night was no different, with the Rocket Man singer hosting his fabulously fashionable White Tie and Tiaras Ball.
A huge number of celebrities turned up for the event, with everyone from Liz Hurley to Justin Timberlake and Sophie Ellis Bextor keeping to the strict monochrome dress code.
Only Shirley Bassey broke with convention, wearing a fabulous (would you expect anything less?!) purple frock.
The outfits worn by the stars prove the versatility and classic look of monochrome and right here at the Clothes Agency we have some great black and white pieces on sale.
The Tato black and white dress is a great piece for a stand-out look - for a real clashing look you could always try teaming with zebra print heels if you are feeling brave.
Alternatively the Celine white frill skirt would be a lovely garment for the summer with its floaty, feminine look possibly leading to you being the envy of all your friends!
If you want to stand out from the crowd, eschew colour altogether and see how monochrome could work for you.

Earlier this week the Croydon-born model attended the opening of a new hair salon in the capital and worked her traditional magic on a stunning lace dress.
Although lace may be considered by many to be for those of advanced years, Ms Moss proved that if done right, it can look great.
Although it is more flattering on smaller shapes, it is worth checking out if you can work the lace trend.
Here at the Clothes Agency we have a number of stunning lace items that could have you looking like you have stepped straight out of Ms Moss' wardrobe.
The Dolce & Gabbana chocolate brown silk chiffon & lace dress is a great summer piece.

Ciara shines in jeans and vest
US pop princess Ciara has proven that sometime, dressing down can look just as good as dressing up.
The singer, who has enjoyed a second wind in her career success thanks to a collaboration with Justin Timberlake recently, attended the premiere of the latest Transformers move in a pair of simple acid-wash jeans and a plain t-shirt.
She topped the outfit off with a string of necklaces and some super-high heels.
Although many people would think that dressing up is the only way to stand out, Ciara has proven that in a crowd of dresses, she can wow in jeans.
Right here at the Clothes Agency we have a number of great pairs of trousers that can work as a starting point for any outfit.
The HOX skinny trousers are an amazing pair of velvet trousers that are guaranteed to be a talking point.

Get a versatile maxi dress this summer
Now that summer seems to have finally arrived, getting the wardrobe in order is a good idea.
Although shorts and cropped trousers are an obvious part of a summer closet, so is the maxi dress.
Worn by all manner of celebrities, including Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Keira Knightly, the maxi-dress should be a key piece during the warmer months.
Its great use is in its versatility - Cheryl Cole recently teamed one with a denim jacket, while even a stylish cropped cardigan could work well with it.
Additionally it can also be worn by itself, or accessorised with some bracelets and a straw hat for a chic, summer-in-Cannes look.
Right here at the Clothes Agency we have two fabulous maxi dresses that are just waiting to be snapped up.
The gorgeous Ralph Lauren paisley maxi-dress is a great stand-out designer piece, ideal for an evening restaurant trip.
Alternatively, the ASOS maxi dress is a great piece that could be worn for shopping or a trip to the beach - team with the Mulberry hippy fringed bag for a boho look.
Make sure to get a maxi dress in your wardrobe this summer - you won't regret it.

Mulberry chief talks about unfashionable extravagance
We are all aware that with the recession on, keeping costs down is important, especially when it comes to fashion.
However, it appears that it is not just us mere mortals who think it, as one influential fashionista has confirmed.
The chairman and chief executive of Mulberry, one of Britain's most famous high-end fashion brands, told Reuters that "extravagance" has "become unfashionable".
Commenting on his business's latest profit report, he claimed that the brand represents "understated British style" that is "authentic but fashionable".
Here at the Clothes Agency we have a number of stunning Mulberry pieces on sale currently.
For bag fans, a Mulberry purse doesn't come much higher up the desirable pieces list and the black leather designer bag is one of the best accessories on the website.
There is also the copper Mulberry Bayswater bag that would spice up any bland outfit.
If you want to treat yourself to a true piece of great British design, you can't go wrong with Mulberry.
