CLOTHES AGENCY LISTING FEES COMPARED TO eBAY...
Since the changes in eBay fees at the end of September 2008, Clothes Agency recently conducted an experiment to compare one sale item, and what it would cost to list and sell on The Clothes Agency - as opposed to eBay..
The details were kept simple and an average priced item of £60 (approx. $120 US) was taken. All the upgrade features (such as bold, 6 images, gallery image etc.) were then added - but these were limited to only the ones that The Clothe Agency include as standard - but for which eBay charge extra..
The calculations were based on what it would cost to list the item on eBay for 30 days.
The results were shocking!....
(Note: Clothes Agency listings run for up to 28 days in one selling period - so the eBay costs were multiplied by three to reflect the same time scale, as their regular listings run for a maximum of ten days. Some prices might not be 100% accurate, but they are within a few pence/cents!)

A little scary, don't you think?? And to be even kinder - the same item was taken as if it had sold in the first 10 day period on eBay - still the results were a revelation..

Note: The basic monthly 'shop rent' of £14.99 (whereas Clothes Agency doesn't charge a monthly fee at all!) was not added into the equation:

So, whichever way you look at it, there's no comparison - and while an eBay auction may give you the 'instant cash fix', what's the point of selling something valuable for peanuts?? Surely, it makes far more sense to perhaps wait a month or two for that sale and realise a better price because..
eBay sellers seem to be paying up to TEN times as much to sell!
