With the recent press coverage regarding the apparent high percentage of fakes being advertised on eBay - we thought a clear picture of our policies here at The Clothes Agency might be a good plan...

Just lately, we've received a few nudges about handbags, possible copies and the fact that there may just be a danger of them starting to creep into The Clothes Agency.

Wooahhhh folks - let's not even THINK about letting this sort of thing tarnish our very precious community, after all this is The Clothes Agency - not eBay! We'd prefer that those who are dealing in fakes stay right away and don't even entertain the thought of using us as a selling platform - we don't need or want them...

So, what IS the policy regarding copies?

The information can be found within the following sections: Terms & Conditions; Help - Selling tips; FAQs - Buyers questions answered, but to save time, here it is in a nutshell..

Under NO circumstances should any seller display an item claiming it to be something it's clearly not... It doesn't matter who the label is - it doesn't matter what it looks like - PLEASE DO NOT SELL IT AS THE REAL THING IF IT ISN'T...

If there is a bag that LOOKS like a designer bag, it's vital that the seller does not claim it to be a 'copy'. We don't ever want to see: 'Exactly like a Prada - you can't tell the difference - it has all the stamps and markings' etc etc - because this IS fraudulent and there is a zero tolerance policy at The Clothes Agency.

A classic example of this would be Hermes. There are squillions of copies out there on the market, but that is exactly where we want them to stay - OUT THERE. So if you're either selling a copy - thinking of selling a copy - or hoping to sell a copy - please don't. If you do, Administration will be after you with their Big Deleting Stick.

Joking apart, any suspicious listings will be deleted, without notice and without any refund of listing fees, because just as described in the Terms & Conditions, Clothes Agency cannot accept liability for any listing on the site - but we will take action if an item is suspected as being a copy or fake...
