Perfume may reduce stress, report finds
We all know that perfume can make you smell nice (and attract some male attention!) but did you know that it can help make you happy too?
According to research from the Department of Experimental Psychology at Oxford University presented in the Daily Mail, a great smell could perk you up quickly and easily.
Dr Charles Spence at the department, said: "Smell is our most direct sense. With all other senses, you have to process the information first. But with smell, it's right there, changing you emotions and triggering memories".
"Pleasant smells lower the heart rate and reduce stress, and that in itself makes you feel better."
Among the perfumes suggested by the Daily Mail as great mood lifters, are Dior's Escale a Portofino, Eau de Sisley and Eau de Pamlemousse Rose from Hermes.
For those who don't want to splash out on perfumes, there are cheaper options.
Candles and incense in chamomile and rose flavours may not only smell good, they could be doing you good to.
