Red is hottest colour at this year's Oscars!
With so many red dresses at the 80th Academy Awards, it was definitely the hottest colour of the year. Katherine Heigl (all Hollywood glamour in a one-shouldered Escada dress and Marilyn Monroe hairstyle pictured left) and Anne Hathaway (centre) in a Marchesa number, were both resplendent in scarlet. Miley Cyrus wore a simple red Valentino, while Heidi Klum looked dramatic in her Galliano gown. And our very own Helen Mirren and Julie Christie (commiserations on not winning Best Actress) showed us that even the more mature lady could look fabulous in red - Helen (pictured right) looks simply amazing! My personal favourite was Penelope Cruz (left) in a navy strapless, feather-adorned Chanel gown by Karl Lagerfeld, closely followed by Laura Linney's (centre) navy blue, strapless, elegant dress by Michael Kors and of course, Hilary Swank, fabulously feminine in a lace and tulle Atelier Versace. And there are plenty of ravishing gowns right here to help you to look and feel like the Ultimate Movie Star - have a look at the evening section to find that glamorous treasure...
And last but not least. Daniel Day Lewis may have won Best Actor and deservedly so, but brown shoes with a dinner suit? C'mon Daniel - did you get dressed in the dark? Anyone would think the Oscars was just about the fashion. Of course not. There were lots of winners other than best and worst dressed. Here are just some of the main ones: Best Picture: "No Country for Old Men," Director: Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, "No Country for Old Men" Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis, "There Will Be Blood" Best Actress: Marion Cotillard, "La Vie en Rose" Original Screenplay: Diablo Cody, "Juno" Original Score: Dario Marianelli, "Atonement," Costume: "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem, "No Country for Old Men" Best Supporting Actress: Tilda Swinton, "Michael Clayton." Animated Feature Film: "Ratatouille"Did you agree with the winners? Why not start a new thread on the forum and let us know who you think should have won or whose gown you liked best.
