Celebs go country for Scottish fashion show in New York
Tartan, kilts, sporrans and tweed were all on the catwalk this week for a charity fashion show attended by a host of A-list celebrities.
US actress and model Andie MacDowell, Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick and Canadian funnyman Mike Myers all took to the stage for a special Dressed to Kilt fashion show in New York.
The charity event, which was hosted by Sean Connery and his wife Micheline, was a celebration of all things Scottish, with Andie and her daughters opting for purple tartan numbers while Westwick wore a kilt teamed with a tweed jacket.
Countryside chic has long been a favourite of celebrities, with everyone from Madonna to Sarah Jessica Parker trying the look.
To create a successful country-inspired outfit, there are two rules that should be stuck to at all times.
Keep the look minimal by not over-accessorising with necklaces and earrings - instead opt for just a hint of farm-glamour with a tartan scarf or a tweed jacket and keep the rest of the look plain and simple.
