Selling & returns policy - tips

The Site believes that customer satisfaction is a top priority (see Members feedback) and we therefore actively encourage all Members to use a fair Selling & returns policy. It is important for both the buyers and sellers protection that a returns policy of some description is in place and in addition, a seller could use a flexible and kind returns policy to attract potential buyers. Remember that the more approachable you appear, the more comfortable a buyer will feel!

Below is our recommended policy, which may be used as you wish - (it can be downloaded onto your item listings directly from the listing page):

Do indicate whether you are prepared to ship abroad - buyers will quite understand if there is a small surcharge to get the parcel overseas!

SALES & RETURNS POLICY

Please make payment within 7 days and allow 4 days for cheques to clear before item is posted.
Postage within the seller's country of origin is included in the asking price. Packages abroad will be subject to a small surcharge, (displayed on each item).
If there is a problem please send notification by e-mail within 24 hours of receipt. If notification is not received within 24 hours, it will be assumed that the customer is completely satisfied. Acceptance of any return should first be agreed in writing.
Items should be postmarked as having been returned within three days for a full refund and should be received by the seller within seven days.
When returning items, they should be properly packaged to arrive back in the exact condition in which they were sent.
Notification of safe receipt of returned goods will be sent by e-mail and the agreed refund (less postage and packaging/handling) will be made within 14 days of receipt.
Items being returned must be sent by recorded delivery (within the UK) or the equivalent in your country - or by courier if overseas. A clear record should be kept of the shipping date.
The seller cannot be held responsible for items lost in the post and therefore recommends packages be insured.
All return postal and insurance charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
In the true spirit of our community, we hope that items will be returned unworn and unmarked and must not be damaged in any way. If it is suspected that a buyer has used or worn the item, then a refund may be refused and the item returned to the buyer.

Please note: This is only a suggested policy and therefore The Site does not accept any liability with regards to individual terms. It is up to each member to dictate the terms of their own policies at the point of registering their items for sale. Your individual polices may be changed at any time prior to an actual 'purchase sale', (or transaction with another Member), but not afterwards.

A seller's default policy may be stored via my details, within the my account section in the member's menu, or alternatively it can be stored within an individually listed item.

It is recommended that selling members have as much flexibility as possible, as a 'No Returns' policy may deter a potential buyer - however, it is generally accepted that this may differ for Ultimate Reductions sales.
