Makeup artist gives smokey eye tips

Smokey eyes are always going to be in vogue as they can quickly create a standout look.

However, getting them right can be a challenge. As such, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has told the Daily Mail about how to achieve the perfect smokey eyed look.

Firstly "accent your lashes with eyelash curlers", Ms Tilbury suggests, before applying a brown or grey shadow to the socket, blending down on the eyelid.

Afterwards, pencil along the edge of the top and bottom eyelash and then "use with a lot of pigment, then smudge with a small blending brush," she adds.

At the fourth stage, "take the line out and up slightly at the outer corner of the eye and emphasise the feline shape", before making sure to apply a few coats of mascara.

Smokey eyes have long made an appearance the red carpet, with Mischa Barton even opting for the look at this year's BAFTA TV awards ceremony last Sunday (April 26th).
