Stay safe in summer sun

Getting a tan is out of fashion for most people this season thanks to some strong, English Rose catwalk trends.

However, there are still the odd few who will want to look sun-kissed all year round.

Nina Goad, from the British Association of Dermatologists, said that it is important to remain safe in the sun, even if you aren't after a tan.

"You don't have to avoid the sun all year, but taking a few steps when out and about in the summer sun or when on a sunshine holiday will help to protect you from sunburn and the risk of skin cancer," Ms Goad said.

Suggestions made include wearing a hat, some UV protective sunglasses and avoiding the sun between 11am and 3pm - as well as wearing sunscreen.

There are some great sunglasses currently at the Clothes Agency that could help fight off dangerous UV rays, including the beautiful Victoria Beckham-esque Cacharel numbers and the Bulgari pair.

However, the best idea this year - stay in the shade, as pale is the way to be this summer.
